The 32nd winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 1st May 1845 over the Ditch Mile, was Picnic (3/1), a chestnut filly by Glaucus out of Estelle, owned by the 5th Duke of Richmond. The winner won by a length, with a neck back to the third. A field of 8 runners contested the race which was worth £1,850 (Equivalent to £216,500 in 2017)
